David Grebil


David Grébil has been a drummer since the age of eleven; at sixteen he developed a passion for jazz and performed in a quartet in the south of France.

Relocating to Paris in 1991, he studied at the CIM with Georges Paczynski and met Patrick Boquel, Gilles Barikosky, Sonia Cat-Berro and Emi Oshima with whom he performed his first concerts in Paris. 

Jam-sessions with the likes of Michel Grailler, Jacky Terrasson, Emmanuel Bex, Stefano Di Battista, Alain Jean-Marie... and further studies with names such as Jérôme Barde, Alain Jean-Marie, David El-Malek, Sophie Alour, Sarah Lazarus, Olivier Bogé, Manuel Marchès, Patrick Cabon, Pierre Boussaguet, Stéphane Belmondo, Alex Jacquemin, Mark Thomas, Sarah Lenka, Pierrick Pedron, Franck Amsallem, Sarah Lazarus, Xavier Richardeau, Sarah Lenka…  led to him playing regularly in Parisian clubs and jazz festivals. 

David has also worked in theatre with Vincent Artaud and recorded several albums with the Emi Oshima quartet, Sophie Alour et Alexandre Saada, Frédéric Couderc et Guillaume Naud, Stephan Seva 8tet, Sara Lenka and Padam, Padam.
