Éric Métayer

Éric MétayerAfter his art studies, Eric took acting classes at the Théâtre de l’Atelier 93, under Pierre-Olivier Scotto's direction, and in Cours Florent. He got a part in Alain Cavalier's movie Un Étrange Voyage, and entered the Professional Improvisation League, with which he won numerous trophies and the title of World's Best Improviser. 

He played in numerous movies such as Serge Leroy's Légitime Violence and L'indic, Hiver 54, l'Abbé Pierre and Claude Lelouch's Belle Histoire.  Pierre Jolivet gave him his first lead part in À l'Heure où les Grands Fauves Vont Boire

He was awarded the 1996 Molière for Best Actor for the part of a young transvestite in Aimez-moi les Uns les Autres, a play by his father, Alex Métayer, and continued in theatre while doing voice-over for cartoons (Aladdin, Hercules, 1101 Pattes, Monstres & Cie, Lilo & Stitch, and Allez Raconte).

In 2008, he was awarded a Molière for Best One-Man Show for his show called Un Monde Fou and played the lead part in a musical rendition of the movie Rabbi Jacob. He directed and performed The 39 Steps which was awarded a Molière for Best Comedic Play.

His TV credits include: Maigret, Les Cordier, Juge et Flic and Louis la Brocante, and since 2010 he's participated in Laurent Ruquier's TV show (France 2), On n'Demande Qu'à Rire.
