She's French, he's Dutch, she was born in Paris, he came from Amsterdam, she went to New York, he moved to Paris, she came back, they met, she sings, he plays the piano, she dances, he acts, she acts, he sings, she tap dances…

Together they're a mixture of cultures, of French songs sung in English and Broadway tunes sung in French. An improbable encounter between Fred Astaire, Jacques Brel, Liza Minnelli, Edith Piaf…

Their vision is as much Jean-Luc Godard as it is Martin Scorsese, CNN or Journal de Vingt Heures, Budweiser or Saint-Emilion.

La French Touch, 'a chic mix of styles' (Adelaide Advertiser), is a show about embracing the extraordinary and finding love and tenderness through music in an ever-changing world.

An unconventional childhood, atypical parents, crazy origins, high spirited love stories, and an eclectic mixture of French songs, American musicals, tango and jazz.

Two exceptional voices in unexpected duets with original and unique musical arrangements.

With Brel, Piaf, Trenet, Yeston, Sondheim and Porter, discover Isabelle Georges -
a mixture of Bridget Jones and Shirley MacLaine.

Immerse yourself in her life with her crazy stories, her struggles, her laughter and all those little things that make us human!

We could have cried but we chose to laugh.

A few words from Isabelle Georges

As a child, I was often ill and one day, between stays in the hospital,
I discovered Judy Garland and James Mason in A Star Is Born.
From that moment, I knew I wanted to be a performer too.
So I studied ballet, music, singing and acting.

Years later, in Paris of all places, I created Une Etoile et Moi, a tribute to my childhood idol, Judy Garland,
a show that took me around the world. Now the time has come for me to open up to something else;
something different, something even more personal.

Although French, I grew up with Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel in one ear, and Peter, Paul and Mary, The Kingston Trio, Fats Waller and the American Songbook in the other…

This musical background seemed a perfect starting point for La French Touch.
A repertoire mixing French songs and a 'French approach' to the others!
Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet alongside Maury Yeston,
Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Alan Parsons…
All with that special French touch…

So, why not think of all the words tonight as French… letters from me to you
and each song as a French … kiss?!!!
