David Grébil


David Grébil started playing drums at the age of 11.  He had a passion for jazz, and started playing in a quartet in the French Gerse region.

In 1991, he moved to Paris to study in CIM with Georges Paczynski, and met Patrick Boquel, Gilles Barikosky, Sonia Cat-Berro, Emi Oshima... with whom he performed his first Parisian concerts. He then played jam-sessions with Michel Grailler, Jacky Terrasson, Emmanuel Bex, Stefano Di Battista, and Alain Jean-Marie.

He played with Jérôme Barde, Alain Jean-Marie, David El-Malek, Sophie Alour, Sarah Lazarus, Olivier Bogé, Manuel Marchès, Patrick Cabon, Pierre Boussaguet, Stéphane Belmondo, Alex Jacquemin, Mark Thomas, Sarah Lenka, Pierrick Pedron, Franck Amsallem, Sarah Lazarus, Xavier Richardeau, and Sarah Lenka in Parisian jazz clubs and festivals.

David also played in theatre, directed by Vincent Artaud. He recorded albums with the Emi Oshima quartet (1997), Sophie Alour and Alexandre Saada (2005), Frédéric Couderc and Guillaume Naud (2007), Stephan Seva 8tet, Sara Lenka (2008 & 2012), and in Padam Padam.
