Chansons symphoniques! Isabelle Georges & the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire

French chanson ! From October 2 to October 7 2026, Isabelle Georges & Frederik Steenbrink return to the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, conducted by Dylan Corlay, to perform the great French standards.

“Song is part of everyone’s daily life; that is its function and its strength. Social, satirical, revolutionary, anarchist, joyful, wistful… it brings each of us back to our own story.” — Barbara

Three little notes, and we are carried back in time. Childhood songs bellowed in the car on the way to the holidays, a first slow dance at a campsite in Brittany crowned by a first kiss, the song that made our tears a little less bitter at the first break-up, the one we danced to at a housewarming, wept to at the birth of a first child or at a grandparent’s funeral…

Songs feed us, and feed on literature, on life, on classical music. Simple songs built on one or two chords, complex ones, songs that spark argument or bring people together like an out-of-tune guitar by the fire — they never leave us. And why confine ourselves to one era, when you can imagine something new made from two Stromae songs, the Brel of our times?

Arrangements by Cyrille Lehn, Lucas Henri, Sebastiaan Koolhoven, Bruno Fontaine and Matthieu Michard.
