Christmas and New Year Symphonic concerts
Six special concerts with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Lège and the Orchestre of Pau Pays de Béarn in Verviers, Liège and Pau.
“This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.” Leonard Bernstein. To end 2014 and start 2015 in music, we imagined an extraordinary journey through Musical shows created between 1927 and 1997 by a variety of amazing authors and composers.
Initiated by Jean-Pierre Rousseau, conceived by Isabelle Georges and Frederik Steenbrink and orchestrated by Cyrille Lehn, this program takes its roots in the golden age of Broadway and MGM’s fabulous orchestras as well as the incredible interpretations of musicians and performers from Fred Astaire to John Coltrane, from Oscar Peterson to Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Colette Renard, Julie Andrews et many others.
See you at the Grand Théâtre de Verviers and at Liège’s Philharmonie for Christmas on Broadway. With the voices of Isabelle Georges and Frederik Steenbrink, the Royal Philharmonique orchestra of Liège conducted by Jean-Pierre Haeck and our Jazz quartet composed by Guillaume Naud on the piano, David Grebil on the drums, Jérôme Sarfati on the double bass and Gilles Barikosky on the saxophone.
