Chante!

A very unique show !

The great French repertoire and more

After winning over 150,000 spectators with Une étoile et moi, Padam Padam and Broadway Enchanté!, Isabelle Georges is celebrating her comeback to the Paris scene with Chante!

For this new show, Isabelle allows herself what some great French ladies like Nicole Croisille or Line Renaud dared before her, a real personality show, celebrating the great French songs . She rhymes Aznavour with Cole Porter swings Nougaro with Bernstein, she sings Nino Rota and Stephen Sondheim in French, and introduces new French songwriters with songs created for the occasion. Thierry Boulanger’s arrangements give all these songs, standards or unknown gems an intoxicating flavor.

Surrounded by five “jack-of-all-trades” (Le Monde), including her partner, the incredible crooner Frederik Steenbrink, Isabelle goes on with sketches and songs, “reinvents” tap dancing and sends labels to waltz. She sings that it is never too late to reinvent the extraordinary in everyday life, celebrate humanity and find sense and tenderness in a world where everything is decidedly too fast.

Singing, a infinite source of joy

“As far back as I can remember, singing has always been a source of strength and joy. When I was little, I sang loudly on my way home from school, to make my friends laugh, to console me …

Since then, I sang in tribute to Judy Garland, I sang to come out of oblivion a huge composer, I sang the musicals that rocked my childhood. I crisscrossed the roads of France from Foix to Dunkerk, from Menton to Lannion, from Forbach to Bayonne, always passing by Paris. As Victor Hugo says: “Breathing Paris, it retains the soul! ”

I sing, I sing, I sing what makes me laugh, I sing my fears, my words, others, I sing what moves me, what escapes me, what enchants me. I sing for the people who are dear to me and I sing for you those who find it difficult to keep smiling … I sing to wake you up, rock you  …

As a child, I had Devos, Brassens and Nougaro in one ear, Mel Brooks, George Gershwin, Harold Arlen in the other … This wonderful musical back ground seemed to me an ideal starting point for writing this new show … We say that life is full of comedy, you just have to watch it well. What I observed, I sing to you … So yes, in Chante!, I sing. »
